What is glass fiber?
Glass fiber is a kind of inorganic non-metallic material with excellent performance, a wide variety of advantages are good insulation, strong heat resistance, good corrosion resistance, high mechanical strength, but the disadvantage is brittle, poor wear resistance. It is made of glass balls or waste glass as raw materials through high-temperature melting, wire drawing, winding, weaving and other processes, the diameter of its monofilament is several microns to more than twenty microns, equivalent to 1/20-1/5 of a hair, and each fiber filament is composed of hundreds or even thousands of monofilament. Glass fibers are commonly used as reinforcement materials in composite materials.
